Secluded cabin above Park City

Put down your tools and come relax in the mountains. This stunning and warmly lit cabin is tucked into the side of the mountain at 8,000 ft of elevation, allowing you rise above your daily worries on 2-acres of secluded aspen and pine. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and another four twin-sized beds, this cabin is the perfect spot for a family or two to connect with nature and make lasting memories with each other. Only 25-minutes to Park City resorts, and 35-minutes to Salt Lake City. Relax by the fireplace after a long day on the slopes or escape the heat of the valley in summer. This cabin is available and accessible year-round for you to enjoy the different energy that each season brings. If you are planning a ski trip, make sure to have 4x4/AWD. In the winter the roads are inaccessible without proper vehicle and clearance. The Cabin is located in Tollgate Canyon, which has a rich history dating back to the pioneer days of America, where it was used as an easier route to Salt Lake City. Travelers were charged fifty cents a wagon drawn by one animal and a penny for each head of sheep. Since then, Tollgate serves as a haven for those looking to experience life instead of merely passing through it. As with most cabins in the area, The Cabin was built in the mid-70s as part of what is now a quiet community speckled with modern and rustic cabins. It enjoyed a full remodel in 2024, marrying contemporary design and amenities with the original mountain architecture and materials. It now includes an open and fully stocked kitchen and living room with views down the valley and across mountain passes, two bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. The sleeping quarters include: Master Bedroom: a queen-sized bed looking up at gabled roofing beams, with facing a private deck facing the sunrises. An en-suite bathroom with windows that open to the night sky. Guest Bedroom: a queen-sized bed with windows one wall looking down the canyon and on the other wall looking at mountain passes. Kids Area: a twin bunk bed and two additional twin sized beds that can be joined to make a queen. There is a total of 4 twin beds in this area and a carpeted and cushioned section in between for playing, exercising, or relaxing. Cook a delicious meal, pour yourself a drink, and unwind in the living room with a Smart TV to stream your Netflix/Hulu/HBO accounts, or shut off the internet and dive into our eclectic collection of French and English books. If you must, you can remotely work through Wi-Fi or take calls using your own cell service and data, which comes through brilliantly in most places on the mountain. A 10-minute walk takes you to Bobcat Springs, a stocked fishing pond. Biking and back-country skiing can be accessed from the front door. Moose, deer, beaver, and pheasants are the most common wildlife. The cabin is only 25 minutes from world-class ski resorts. Park City is home to Deer Valley, Canyons, and Park City Mountain Resort, hosts of the 2002 and 2034 Winter Olympics. On the front side of that mountain range are four more ski resorts including Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude. Please note, for insurance reasons, parties are not allowed, nor are any unregistered guests. Guests violating this policy may be subject to a $1,000 fine. Guest access Guests have full and private access to The Cabin and its property. Enjoy the two acres and the surrounding areas at your leisure. Please note that Tollgate Canyon roads are a mix of pavement and gravel. To access The Cabin, you will first be on windy, but paved road. A little over a mile from The Cabin, the roads will turn to gravel. In the late spring, summer, and early fall, this drive is breathtaking. In the winter, it is that and also snowy and technical. The gravel roads in particular can be a combination of ice and snow. The plows are diligent about maintaining the roads but expect snow-packed roads during your winter stay. Because of these conditions, a 4WD or AWD vehicle with ground clearance I provide traction devices called snow socks that are very easy to put on and are only for just in case situations. They are free of charge during your stay. Other things to note A digital guestbook will be provided before your stay. We will also place a physical guidebook on the dining table. These will include instructions for everything from wifi to utensils. Of course we are also available for any questions should they come up.
